We hear it from our students all the time: Becker just felt like the perfect fit. While we take pride in our campus community, we know how easy it can be to get caught up in spacious dorms, cool cafes, and a lively social scene. Becker has all of that, but to be sure that you're choosing a school for the right reasons, we recommend considering these (academic-related) factors, too.
Challenging courses. Courses that force you out of your comfort zone and make you think hard about new topics are the kind that shape students into leaders and spark new ideas. Your school should, of course, offer courses in your intended major, but it doesn't hurt to experiment with unnfamiliar subject areas. You never know—you could surprise yourself with a whole new passion.
Class size. This one requires some internal reflection. Did you learn best in classes of 30 or 40 other students? Or did you tackle the material in a class of 12? Knowing which environments have suited you best in high school can help determine what class sizes you should look for in a college.
Personal attention. Along with class size, consider the level of interaction you need from an instructor to learn effectively. Will in-class interaction be enough, or could you perform even better with access to office hours? Becker's 16:1 student-to-faculty ratio ensures that you receive the personal attention you need to do well, and because our faculty members are committed to a high standard of academic excellence, they go above and beyond to help you succeed.
Support services. From tutoring and shadow programs to counseling and commuter services, the schools on your list should offer programs that address all of your current and future needs. As a member of the Becker community, you'll have access to all of our resources, from your first day on campus to your first day as an alum.
