Posted by Sandy Lashin-Curewitz | November 16, 2015

If Becker College is on your list of schools, make it a point to check back here each month, where we round up everything that's happening around campus and share a few fun facts about our school. If you missed it, here's what October '15 looked like. Now, onto November...

  • Becker recently appointed its first Professor of Practice, Dr. David Jordan, president & CEO of the Seven Hills Foundation. Dr. Jordan will bring his expertise in social entrepreneurship to lead students to a deeper understanding of what it means to be true citizens of the world, capable of transforming lives and communities.
  • Earlier this month, the Becker College field hockey team was named the 2015 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Field Hockey Champions. Go Hawks!
  • Through our winter intersession, students can earn three credits in just three weeks—from home! (Stay tuned for a whole post dedicated to intersession.)
  • In 1958, Senator John F. Kennedy visited our campus to address a Becker assembly.
  • We Are Global and P.R.I.D.E. have been working hard to give back. They're collecting food items across our campus this month to combat child hunger.
  • The Pre-Vet Club welcomed students from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University to an open forum on our campus. Becker students gained new insight on applying to, and being enrolled in, veterinary school from students who know the ropes!
  • In 2014, Becker College opened the Professor John Dorsey Crime Scene and Evidence Lab. Interested in studying criminal justice? Check out this infographic.
  • For help on your (future) papers, the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) now offers one-on-one academic writing support sessions in the Ruska Library.
